Marine Serre offers a 100% GOTS Certified Organic denim twill family of garments, in addition to a Regenerated one. For this new family of denims, Marine Serre has opted for a light washed classic indigo as well as a striking black variant.

The appeal of our All Over Moon denim never wanes, with this classic fabric returning again and again. Made from a GOTS-certified organic cotton canvas, our indigo denim is stonewashed to produce a light blue, sand and purple blue shades; the latter is also treated with a pigment spray to achieve a really vibrant gradient effect that fades to a paler purple at the sides of the garment. After stonewashing, the All Over Moon is laser-printed onto the pieces, its placement differing for each. All are finished with red reinforcement stitches, logo-engraved metal buttons, and a Marine Serre jacron back patch.

REGENERATED DENIM SAND

This hallmark fabric for the house embodies Marine Serre’s role as a modern-day storyteller, spinning new narratives from carefully sourced jeans that are then sorted, sand-washed, cut and regenerated into one-of-a-kind couture garments. These artisanal, upcycled pieces feature reptile-effect textured leather details, lending them an organic feel. At the same time, variations in hue arising from the different kinds of denim deployed create pleasing tone-on-tone effects. There’s a playful and self-referential quality to the leather details, which assume the form of curves, flames or even, in some cases, curl around to adopt the contours of the Marine Serre Moon.

Moon Jacquard Twill Deep Brown

This GOTS-certified organic cotton twill is woven in Italy and embellished using a jacquard technique to create the raised crescent-shaped motifs that characterise the All Over Moon print. Introduced last season in a beige colour, the Moon Jacquard Twill returns for another outing in the new shade of tone-on-tone brown, happily not straying too far from the harmonious and organic palette of its predecessor. This fabric is the foundation for Marine Serre to spin out her modern-day vision of workwear: practical and everyday pieces, as per tradition, but made in an eco-responsible material, and featuring a refined and elegant design. As always, it’s the level of attention to detail here that takes something humble and makes it high-end — namely raw hems, topstitching and a variation in the saturation levels of the All Over Moon print across the garments. Pieces are finished on the back or side with a black leather Marine Serre jacron.

Premium Nappa leather which is made in Italy, and known for its soft and supple qualities, making it ideal in the summer months. During the embellishment stage, garments are airbrushed to reveal our All Over Moon Gradient print, which is set off by the richly dramatic camel, lilac and red palette of the garments. The intensity of the shading varies across each piece, creating a striking chiaroscuro effect that adds depth, dimension and a shimmering, mercurial quality that’s very much in keeping with the house’s lunar codes.

Moon Checks Jacquard is an RWS-certified wool jacquard that is woven in Italy and features a fusion of the Marine Serre Moon and a check pattern in neutral earth tones. Italian tailoring has strongly permeated the new collection, which has been constructed as an ode to the country’s savoir-faire. After conducting extensive research into potential new tailoring materials — always with the challenge of sourcing dormant fabrics suitable for generation — we settled upon rolls of red and grey fabric, the basis of the Regenerated Tailoring range.

The House is always seeking new sustainable methods to produce innovative and core fabrics and this season the GOTS certified organic cotton fiber used in our fleece is mixed with recycled cotton and cotton sourced from regenerative agriculture.

Graphic-print sweatshirts adopt the same codes and the same ironic attitude as their t-shirt counterparts. Although just as present in our day-to-day lives, it was only last season that we upcycled them for the first time — an innovation which wasn’t easy to pull off, as high-quality sweatshirts are harder to track down. Garments are sourced in classic black, all the better to make the graphics pop, before being deconstructed and recomposed in a mosaic design that highlights each individual print while setting them in new constellations. In keeping with the desire to honour the garments’ origins, we have chosen to launch this new range with classic American staples: a hoodie, sweatpants and drawstring shorts, with a cropped sweatshirt for women. Sweatshirts have not been overdyed for ecological reasons so extra care was required to get the right shades during sourcing. The MS Regenerated logo is prominently stamped on each garment. Due to the artisanal nature of the regeneration process, each piece is unique.

After conducting extensive research into potential new tailoring materials — always with the challenge of sourcing dormant fabrics suitable for generation — we settled upon rolls of red and grey fabric, the basis of the Regenerated Tailoring range. For men, a fitted double-breasted jacket designed for formal occasions is joined by an elongated jacket with exaggerated shoulders that’s versatile enough to appeal to women too. Women’s garments include a coat and jacket whose discreet shoulders, simple button closure and generously open neckline recall the Moon Airbrushed leather suit jacket. Sensual, lighter pieces include a strapless dress cinched above the bust by a removeable leather belt, and a pleated mini skirt. Pair it with one of the collection’s knits for a collegiate look.

The forgotten techniques of the  upcycled embroidered pillowcases are saved from oblivion and regenerated into unique, transcending garments evoking soft, delicate and sensual imagery. All these one-of-a-kind pieces are filled with history through their embroideries, all smoothly placed to highlight the beauty of this rare fabric. The white tones of the pillowcases are also dyed in black to play with the ceremonial references.

Recycled Nylon Track Pants

Technical nylon recycling is at the heart of the house’s bid to support the circular economy. New this season, this GRS-certified recycled nylon jacquard is woven in Italy. The jacquard weave reveals our new tone-on-tone Moonogram print, while a play of threads in different tones gives the material its characteristic brilliance, recalling our former use of moiré for this range. As well as being water-repellent, the fabric’s finesse and flexibility, which is highly compatible with summer wardrobes, firmly positions it in the haute sportswear category. The pieces in this range — including two kinds of track jackets, and baggy, balloon-shaped track pants with an elastic band at the waist, recalling sportswear codes — are perfect for travel or an elevated everyday look. They are also available in a Recycled Nylon variant, but an exclusive garment in this particular combination is our beloved bomber jacket, coming in a cropped length with ribbed sleeves and waistband. It is embellished with a Marine Serre Moon patch featuring a red border.

This sporty fabric is a fixture for Marine Serre. The material is composed of a mixture of GRS-certified recycled nylon and cotton which is made in Italy. Water-repellent and soft to the touch, it has a washed texture as if it has taken on natural creasing with wear — a subtle detail that nonetheless elevates it to the rank of high-end sportswear. The unisex pieces in this range are intended for everyday casual wear. The track jacket, already a new icon for the house, has been carried over from last season, while the baggy track pants have morphed into a more dramatic balloon shape; both these pieces feature the MS Sport logo embroidered in white thread. The raincoat, which also features the MS Sport logo on the rear, has practical details like an adjustable hood and adjustable cuffs. The women’s range borrows technical details from hiking gear and is a stylish hybrid of couture and sportswear. The bustier, for instance, has elastic cord and adjustable cord stoppers at the bust so wearers can adjust the fabric to suit their chest size.

A staple of Marine Serre Couture, this premium sheepskin leather is made in Italy and has a satin sheen that naturally gives off light, as though it has already acquired a delicate patina over time. The grained, structured leather is then heat-embossed to reveal the house’s Moonogram print. The pieces in this range draw inspiration from classic tailoring codes, which merge seamlessly with Marine Serre’s resolutely contemporary vision: women’s styles, from fitted coats and jackets, to a glamorous bustier dress, are fitted to follow the curves of the body. The men’s pieces are modern and luxurious wardrobe staples.
