Marine Serre launched her first collection in 2017, after a string of affirming internships and jobs at Margiela, McQueen, Dior, and Balenciaga: “A Radical Call for Love”, a response to the political climate post-Paris and Brussels attacks. A short year after her graduation, with the same collection, she sold globally and saw her brand shortlisted for the Hyères Festival, the ANDAM Prize and the LVMH Prize, ultimately winning the latter.
Fast forward two years and Marine Serre’s critically acclaimed collections have garnered a cult following, with collections “Manic Soul Machine”, “Hardcore Couture”, and her last creations for Fall/Winter 2019, “Radiation”. A brand has emerged — with a hybrid mixture classic French couture shapes and savoir-faire and sportswear fabrics, a decisive ecofuturist thematic and vision, to the background of a colliding mix of cultural and epochal references.
Over the seasons her scope progressed and widened. The designer has now opened four lines: green for her ecofuturist line with base material strictly from end-of-cycle product, red for her red carpet couture laboratory, white for core brand designs, and gold for extravagant and experimental mode(s).
